1. Introduction

Welcome to Verdict IDE, a product of TrueSynthesis Inc, a Texas corporation ("TrueSynthesis," "we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our IDE application, website (verdictide.com), and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.

Privacy at a glance

We never train on your code — ever. Not by default, and there is no setting to turn on that would let us. Your code, prompts, and projects are yours.
Local-first. When you run local models, your code never leaves your machine — nothing is sent to us or any third party to answer your request.
Bring-your-own-key is conduit-only. When you use your own provider API key, we pass the request through to that provider and do not store or train on its content.
Cloud is opt-in and encrypted. If you choose Verdict Cloud, only the data needed to fulfill your request is sent, encrypted in transit.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through third-party providers (Google, GitHub).
Profile Information: Optional information you may provide such as your name, profile picture, and preferences.
Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card information.
Support Communications: Information you provide when contacting our support team.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: Information about how you use our Service, including features accessed, actions taken, and time spent.
Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and browser type.
Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs.

2.3 Code and Project Data

Privacy First Architecture: Verdict IDE is designed with privacy as a core principle.

Local Mode: When using local AI models (e.g., Ollama), your code never leaves your machine.
Cloud AI Mode: When using cloud AI features, code snippets are sent to AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) for processing. These transmissions are encrypted and we do not store your code on our servers.
We do not: Mine your code for training data, sell your code to third parties, or access your projects without your explicit consent.

Benchmark runs stay on your machine unless you affirmatively enable Share benchmark data with Verdict. When enabled, qualifying completed runs are uploaded to create your private cloud contribution history and may be shown to other signed-in Verdict users in Community Results. This data includes:

Benchmark and model information: Suite, task-set revision, model identifier, quantization, effective configuration, task counts, outcomes, and score.
Performance measurements: Duration, latency, throughput, token counts, energy when available, and estimated cost.
Machine and runtime context: CPU, system memory, GPU, GPU or unified-memory capacity, operating system, driver, accelerator, and the inference runtime and version actually used.
Verification evidence: Bounded task receipts, hashes, consent receipt, and provenance needed to check internal consistency and prevent duplicate or abusive submissions.

Contributions are privately linked to your Verdict account and paired installation for ownership, rate limiting, withdrawal, and abuse prevention. Your account and pairing identity are not included in Community Results. A community result is visible only after Cloud validation and only when it has at least 100 completed, unique, scorable tasks.

What the benchmark contribution does not contain:

Your API keys or credentials
Your prompts, generated code, files, or project contents
Usernames, hostnames, endpoint URLs, raw machine identifiers, or raw error text
Your IP address as a field in the contribution payload

Like ordinary web services, Verdict's hosting and security infrastructure may process your IP address in network logs. Benchmark security/network logs are retained for no more than 30 days and are not shown in Community Results.

You can turn sharing off at any time. Turning it off stops future contributions but does not erase contributions already received. You can withdraw an existing contribution from My Contributions; its public projection and private benchmark evidence are removed, while a minimal account-linked withdrawal and abuse-prevention record may be retained for up to 730 days.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
Process transactions and manage your subscription
Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse
Personalize your experience and provide tailored content

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: With third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, analytics, cloud hosting).
AI Providers: When you use cloud AI features, relevant code snippets are sent to AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) for processing.
Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or government request.
Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and that of our users and the public.
Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
Regular security assessments and penetration testing
Access controls and authentication mechanisms
Secure development practices

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@verdictide.com.

Benchmark contribution retention:

Accepted owner-history and Community Results records: up to 365 days
Filtered or insufficient-sample contributions: up to 90 days
Rejected or quarantined contribution payloads: up to 30 days
Consent receipts: up to 730 days
Minimal withdrawal tombstones and audit/abuse records: up to 730 days
Benchmark security/network logs: up to 30 days

Expired benchmark records are hidden from user and community views and deleted by the scheduled retention process. These periods are maximums; records may be removed sooner, including after a withdrawal or moderation action.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information.
Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Our Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
