Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Verdict IDE and Cloud Connect.
General
What is Verdict IDE?
Verdict IDE is an AI-powered development environment designed for speed and productivity. It combines intelligent code completion, AI pair programming, and real-time project management into a single application.
Is Verdict IDE free?
Yes! Verdict IDE is free to download and use. We offer optional Pro features for teams and power users who want advanced capabilities like multi-device sync and priority support.
What platforms are supported?
Verdict IDE runs on:
- macOS – Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) and Intel
- Windows – Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit)
- Linux – Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 11+, Fedora 35+
Do I need an internet connection?
Verdict IDE works offline for most features. Cloud Connect and AI features that use cloud models require an internet connection.
Cloud Connect
What is Cloud Connect?
Cloud Connect lets you monitor and control your Verdict IDE from anywhere—your phone, tablet, or any web browser. It works without opening ports or configuring VPNs.
Does my code get sent to the cloud?
No. Your source code never leaves your machine. Cloud Connect only transmits status information (like "task running" or "50% complete") and control commands (like "pause" or "resume"). Your actual code stays local.
Is Cloud Connect secure?
Yes. All connections use TLS encryption. Device tokens are short-lived and revocable. Cross-user access is blocked at the protocol level.
How do I register a device?
In Verdict IDE, click the cloud icon and select "Connect to Cloud." You'll get a code to enter at verdictide.com/device. Once approved, your device is linked to your account.
How many devices can I register?
Free accounts can register 1 device. Pro accounts can register up to 5 devices.
Can I revoke a device?
Yes. Go to Account → Devices and click "Revoke" next to any device. It will be disconnected immediately.
Does Cloud Connect work behind corporate firewalls?
Usually yes! Cloud Connect uses outbound WebSocket connections that look like normal web traffic. Most corporate networks allow this. However, some very restrictive proxies that inspect all traffic may block WebSockets.
Why does my device show "Offline"?
Your device shows offline when:
- Verdict IDE isn't running
- Your computer is asleep or disconnected
- There's a network issue
Try restarting Verdict IDE. If it persists, check your internet connection.
Account & Billing
How do I create an account?
Click Sign In and choose Google or GitHub. We use OAuth so you don't need to create a separate password.
Can I change my email address?
Your email comes from your Google or GitHub account. To use a different email, sign in with a different OAuth provider or update your email with Google/GitHub.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Account → Billing and select a plan. We accept all major credit cards.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Go to Account → Billing and click "Cancel Subscription." You'll keep Pro features until the end of your billing period.
